<p>Rapper and activist Killer Mike responded on March 25 to backlash over an interview he did with the NRA</a> in videos posted across his social profiles, saying his comments were misused by the organization to disparage the student-led gun protests.</p><p>“I sat with people I might not always agree with,” he said in the video. “I sat with a group called the National Rifle Association; I did an interview about black gun ownership in this era.”</p><p>Killer Mike apologized to the student organizers, saying, “I’m sorry that an interview I did about a minority, black people in this country, and gun rights was used as a weapon against you guys. That was unfair to you and it was wrong, and it disparaged some very noble work you’re doing.”</p><p>He affirmed his support of the march and the student organizers and his position as an activist and ally on many different issues. “I do support the march and I do support black people owning guns.”</p><p>See the NRA interview here</a>.
