SARDINE CANYON, UTAH — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper is lucky to be alive after being struck by a car on a highway.<br /><br />According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, Sgt. Cade Brenchley was hit by a vehicle during a snowstorm on Sunday March 25. Footage of the accident shows him being thrown into the air during the accident, and bystanders later coming to his aid.<br /><br />Amazingly, Brenchley survived the ordeal, but he didn't escape unscathed. The 13-year veteran officer was treated for broken ribs and a broken scapula.
