Malala Yousafzai Returns to Pakistan for First Time Since Shooting

<p>Nobel peace laureate Malala Yousafzai arrived home in Pakistan on March 29 for the first time since being shot by a Taliban gunman in 2012.</p><p>The 20-year-old met with Pakistani Prime Minister</a> Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and gave a speech to the media in which she spoke about the importance of education for children. Reports stated that she will stay in Pakistan until April 2.</p><p>Yousafzai was 15 years old when she was shot in the head</a> by Taliban militants for her role in advocating for education for girls. She was airlifted to Britain after the shooting to treat her injuries and had not returned to Pakistan since.</p><p>In 2014, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize</a> for her work in defending the rights of women and girls.
