South Korea's financial aid to developing countries reached two-point-two billion U.S. dollars in 2017, ranking 15th among the 29 OECD members recorded.<br /> The OECD says South Korea's official development assistance last year was down one-point-eight percent from 2016, but by ranking, it went up one spot.<br />Of the total, South Korea spent around one-point-six billion dollars on direct bilateral aid and the rest on indirect aid through international organizations. <br />Over half of the assistance went to Asian countries, followed by around 24 percent to African countries and ten percent to Latin American countries. <br />
