<p>Officers from Grapevine Police Department in Texas teamed up with local firefighters</a> to save eight orphaned ducklings who found themselves stuck down a storm drain on April 8.</p><p>The “fuzzy darlings”</a> as Grapevine PD called them, were rescued after the death of their mother, who was “swept onto the roadway near SH-121 and I-635, where she was hit by a car.”</p><p>A Facebook post from Grapevine PD adds, “Her ducklings fell through a large drainage grate on shoulder. A good samaritan [sic] called us for help. We guarded traffic and helped lift the grate while firefighters removed it and rescued all 8 ducklings.”</p><p>Following the rescue, which was caught on camera</a> by Texas-resident Nathan Stinson, the ducklings were placed in the care of Grapevine Animal Services.
