China's top diplomat is in Japan,... in what is being seen as a major step forward in improving the frosty relations between the two sides.<br /> Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, meeting with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono on Sunday, said his visit was Beijing's response to Tokyo's positive messages and policies. <br />Kono also said Wang's visit was a major step forward in their bilateral relations.<br />The diplomats discussed the North Korea issue, their economic relations and territorial disputes in the East China Sea.<br />They also touched base on the upcoming three-way summit with South Korea, set to take place next month. <br />
