Three baboons recently liberated themselves from the Texas Biomedical Research Institute (TBRI).<br />TBRI holds about 2,500 animals used to test vaccines and drug therapies, including 1,100 baboons.<br />The baboons are kept in a large open pen with climbing structures and blue 55-gallon barrels<br />The grain-filled barrels are meant to be rolled and shaken, in an effort to mimic foraging.<br />This enclosure's inward-leaning walls have prevented the baboons from escaping for about 35 years. <br />
