Eyewitness video has emerged from downtown Yerevan of a recent protest in which police lash out at demonstrators.<br /><br />In the video, filmed last week, police try to break the windows of a car that is trying to drive away. <br /><br />Protesters can be seen pleading with the police in the video.<br /><br />According to the eyewitness, police damaged the car doors and forced the driver to accompany them to the police station because he was against long-running leader Serzh Sargsyan.<br /><br />The Armenian capital has been gripped by protests in recent days after Sargsyan made attempts to cling to power.<br /><br />Sargsyan resigned as prime minister on Monday.
