Thousands in Los Angeles March to Demand Armenian Genocide Recognition

<p>Thousands of people on Tuesday, April 24, demanded recognition of the 1915-1917 Armenian genocide with two marches through Los Angeles. The march commemorated the 103rd anniversary of the genocide, which Turkey does not acknowledge.</p><p>Many of those who marched were waving flags, including in Little Armenia, according to a news report</a>. A second march was held to the Turkish consulate. More than 200,000 people of Armenian descent live in Los Angeles County.</p><p>Turkish officials claim the 1.5 million deaths were part of the chaos of World War I.
