She is the US actress who married into British royalty.<br /><br />Now, in new reports, it is claimed that the Duchess of Sussex asked UK TV star Lizzie Cundy her to find her "a famous British man" just months before meeting Prince Harry.<br /><br />Cundy, 50, reportedly struck up a friendship with Meghan Markle after being asked to accompany her to a charity dinner in 2013.<br /><br />But Cundy says she was "literally ghosted" by Meghan after her relationship with Harry began in 2016.<br /><br />In this interview from 2013 conducted by Cundy at the Global Gift Gala philanthropic event at the ME Hotel in London, it's clear that Meghan has always had a soft spot for the UK and even jokes that she wants "to stick around for a while."<br /><br />Introduced by Cundy as "the hottest girl in the US," Markle was in London at the time to promote her hit TV drama "Suits."<br /><br />She beams: "I've had the best time in London. The fans are amazing!"<br /><br />"It is very cold but the people are so warm, as cheesy as that sounds. I was joking that I've never been called 'love' or 'darling' more in my life so it makes me want to stick around for a while."<br /><br />The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their first wedding anniversary after getting married at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.<br /><br />The pair welcomed Archie Harrison Windsor to the family in April 2019.<br /><br />Cundy reveals details of her friendship with Meghan in her autobiography "Tales From The Red Carpet," published on May 20.
