The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance legislation intended to protect a special counsel from being dismissed by the President.<br />Committee chairman Chuck Grassley and three other Republicans joined their 10 Democratic colleagues by voting to send the bill to the Senate floor.<br />The legislation is the product of a bipartisan compromise struck between Senators Grassley, Lindsay Graham, Thom Tillis, Christopher Coons, and Cory Booker. <br />
