This is the incredible moment that Brazilian surfer Rodrigo Koxa broke the world record for riding the world's biggest wave last year.<br /><br />Koxa surfed an 80ft (24.4-metre) wave at Nazare in Portugal on 8 November 2017 and the moment was captured by Newsflare member Pedro Miranda.<br /><br />Koxa's record for the highest wave ever surfed was confirmed at the 2018 Big Wave Awards that took place this weekend in Los Angeles.
