A large monitor lizard brought traffic to a stop when it idly ambled across the road. <br /><br />The 5ft long reptile wandered in front of cars on Tuesday afternoon (May 1) in Pathumthani, central Thailand.<br /><br />He was filmed making a hasty U-turn and scampering back into a side street as an oncoming driver slowed down for the lizard. <br /><br />The witness said: ''I saw the lizard from the distance and slowed down so he could cross. <br /><br />''I'm not sure why he turned around and went back. Maybe he forgot something at home. I hope he wasn't scared by me.''
