Try this Mutton recipe at home and let us know in the comments below.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />10 Byadagi Chilies<br />1 tbsp<br />1 Bay Leaf<br />Stone flower<br />1 Star Anise <br />5 cloves<br />1 tbsp coriander seeds<br />1 tbsp Annie seeds<br />1/2 Nutmeg<br />1/2 inch cinnamon <br />1 tbsp poppy seeds<br />8 peppercorns<br />3 tbsp ghee<br />1 finely chopped onion<br />1/2 tbsp of each - ginger-garlic paste<br />1/2 tsp turmeric powder<br />1/2 tsp red chili powder<br />2 tbsp of prepared garam masala<br />1/2 kg Mutton<br />1 cup Coconut&Onion Paste<br />Salt to taste<br />1 liter Water<br /><br />Coconut&Onion Paste:<br />Take 1/2 fresh coconut, roast it until turns brown.<br />Take 2 medium sized onions, slice it and fry it nice and golden and make a paste of it.<br /><br /><br />Method of preparation:<br />In a wok, dry roast byadagi chilies and keep it aside.<br />Add oil to the wok and fry rest of the garam masalas.<br />Add Bay Leaf, Stone Flower, Star Anise, cloves, coriander seeds, Annie seeds, Nutmeg, cinnamon, poppy seeds, peppercorns and gently roast them until the masalas give out a lovely aroma.<br />Let the masalas cool down and then add the chilies as well and grind it into a fine powder.<br />Heat a pressure cooker, add ghee, onions, and saute it until the onions turn translucent.<br />Once the onions turn translucent add ginger-garlic paste, and saute them until the raw smell goes off.<br />Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and now add the garam masala that we've prepared. Mix them well.<br />Add mutton, and sear it on high flame for 5 minutes.<br />Add Coconut&Onion Paste, salt and water.<br />Pressure cook the mutton gassi until 1 whistle and then cook it more on low flame for 15 minutes and our gassi will be ready.<br />Take it out on a serving and it is ready to be served.
