IA-the Vocaloid WHO newly evolved- sings and prays
For the peace of the victims of The East Japan Great Earthquake
On the mournful Waves of Sound.

THE BEACH IN THE MOONLIGHT
~A REQUIEM~
(Words by Chuya Nakahara
Composed by Chihei Kuwahata)

One button dropped onto the shore in the
moonlight.

Although I don’t think I can use it for
something, I put it in my pocket because I
didn’t have reason to throw it into the
sea.

One button dropped onto the shore in the
moonlight.

Although I don’t think I can use it for
something, I can’t throw it to the moon
and I can’t throw it to the sea. So I put it
in my pocket.

This button I picked up impressed my
finger and my heart.
Why do I have to throw it?

I started to compose this tune in 2012, being shocked at the Earthquake Disaster of East Japan.
In my mind, the poet's deep sorrow and sense of loss which was described in this poem, linked with the image of the people who were looking for the remains of victims of the Tsunami.
I wish this "poor Requiem" can be a silver lining in the cloud; and I hope the dark-cold Sea of Sorrow become somewhat warmer and brighter.
March 11th 2018
Chihei Kuwahata (Horizon Mulberry-field)
