<p>A blinded koala is cared for at the Port Stephens Koalas sanctuary in New South Wales following its eye surgery, as seen in this video posted on May 7.</p><p>The old koala, named Seaham Kerry, was found wandering in circles in a horse paddock and had bad ulceration in her eyes, possibly caused by an unknown long-term irritant.</p><p>A veterinary surgeon removed some of the scarring and ulceration and had sutured the koala’s eyes closed while her corneas healed. A serum made from her blood plasma would be applied to her eyes for two weeks to assist healing.</p><p>The surgeon is confident Seaham Kerry’s vision will return.
