The U.S. Department of State has reportedly pointed out that North Korea's launch of satellites using ballistic missile technology are also a clear violation of the U.N. Security Council sanctions.<br /> That's according to Voice of America, citing an official at the State Department.<br />North Korea's announcement last month that it will halt all nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile tests... did not mention satellites.<br />But the official said the sanctions require the North to verifiably and irreversibly abandon its ballistic missile program.<br />And although the North previously claimed that the satellites are purely for peaceful purposes,... the latest set of resolutions strictly prohibit any kind of launch using ballistic missile technology. <br />
