Nigerian Army Frees a Thousand Captives from Boko Haram

The Nigerian Army rescued over 1,000 captives of the insurgency Boko Haram.<br />The captives were found in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno.<br />A military spokesman stated most of them were women and children held hostage, while some young men were forced to become fighters.<br />Troops of Nigeria's 22nd Brigade rescued them as part of Operation Lafiya Dole, meant to engage Boko Haram in one of their enclaves.<br />Troops found the hostages in four villages within Borno. <br />
