Seoul's top nuclear negotiator heads to Washington for talks on North Korea

South Korea's top negotiator to the long-stalled six-party talks is leaving for Washington today... for discussions with U.S. officials on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.<br /> Seoul's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lee Do-hoon is scheduled to meet with White House National Security Council senior director for Asian affairs Matthew Pottinger, and Assistant Secretary of State East Asian and Pacific Affairs Susan Thornton. <br />They are expected to discuss ways to achieve lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula through the complete denuclearization of the region.<br />They will also focus on how the allies will carry out the Panmunjom Declaration reached during the inter-Korean summit. <br />
