<p>Lava, smoke and fire were seen at Leilani Estates, Hawaii, as the Kilauea volcano continued to erupt on May 9</a>.</p><p>The US Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said</a> at least two new volcanic vents were disrupting the other fissures nearby, causing “loud jetting and booming sounds, and some [lava] spattering.”</p><p>At least 26 homes</a> in Leilani Estates had been destroyed by lava flows since the May 4 earthquake.
