This bungling drunk driver narrowly avoided a deadly crash - when he fell asleep and rolled across a ten-lane motorway.<br /><br />The sloshed motorist had finished a heavy night drinking when he stopped his black Toyota Altis during rain in Khon Kaen, Thailand just before sunrise. <br /><br />But he nodded off behind the wheel and CCTV cameras recorded his car rolling across the busy highway on April 28 before stopping on a traffic island.<br /><br />Police arrived and found the man fast asleep with a half-empty bottle of brandy resting on the handbrake. He was four times over the limit.<br /><br />The man, who was not named, admitted drunk driving and negligent driving and was ordered to appear at court later this month.<br /><br />Deputy Officer Jumlong Suwalak from Khon Kaen police said the driver faces up to a year in jail and a fine of up to 20,000 baht (460gbp) and a six-month driving ban.<br /><br />He said: ''The suspect was found asleep and drunk inside his car. Breath tests showed he had 130 milligrams of alcohol in his body when the limit is 35 milligrams.<br /><br />''Police officers brought him to sub-police station office to recover since he could not talk and was still in a sleepy state the whole time. <br /><br />''The man slept all day at the station, woke up and was told to return home first and come back when he was sober.<br /><br />''His punishment is to be decided by the court. He also had cases in past for negligence driving.''
