Written by City News Service - A 45-year-old woman was killed this morning when the\r<br>sport utility vehicle in which she was traveling slammed into a tree on a\r<br>Ventura (134) Freeway offramp in Glendale, a California Highway Patrol Officer\r<br>said.\r<br> The 2 a.m. crash occurred on the Pacific Avenue offramp from the\r<br>westbound side of the freeway, said CHP Officer Monica Posada.\r<br> A man who was also in the SUV, which appeared to have rolled off the\r<br>freeways westbound lanes and onto the offramp, was injured but was conscious\r<br>and breathing while being loaded into an ambulance to be taken to a hospital,\r<br>said a news photographer at the scene.\r<br> The woman was dead at the scene, her body lying covered on the pavement,\r<br>he said.\r<br> Glendale firefighters had to cut both victims from the wreckage, the\r<br>photographer said.\r<br> It was not immediately clear which victim was driving the SUV.\r<br> The crash shut down the offramp during the investigation, Posada said. \r<br>LOUDLABS NEWS
