<p>Hundreds protested</a> outside Georgian parliament buildings on May 12, after police were criticized</a> for using excessive force during raids on nightclubs in Tbilisi early that morning.</p><p>Police raided two popular nightclubs in the Georgian capital and arrested eight suspects</a> in relation to drug crimes, after five deaths were suspected of being related to the drug mephedrone.</p><p>However clubgoers were reported to have confronted the police and to have recorded the officer’s actions, leading to several arrests of protesting civilians.
