<br /> BlackRock, Inc can now keep fees from the state of Ohio, even donations made for presidential elections.<br /><br />This is allowed due to a recent ruling by a securities regulator.<br /><br />Mark Wiedman donated $2,700 to John Kasich’s unsuccessful campaign in 2016. The money has since been returned.<br /><br />But a federal securities rule doesn't allow companies’ executive officers to donate to government officials who could influence how fund managers are hired. <br />
