대형수송함 2번함 마라도함 진수식<br /><br /> South Korea's navy launched a new 14-thousand-five-hundred-ton amphibious assault ship called the Marado, named after the nation's southernmost island.<br />The public debut was held today at a shipyard in Busan belonging to Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction.<br /> Defense minister Song Young-moo... spoke at the ceremony, saying the Marado contributes to maritime security in Northeast Asia and the world.<br />The Marado is 199 meters long, and can sail at a maximum speed of 23 knots or 41 kilometers per hour.<br />It's equipped with advanced radar and can carry troops, amphibious boats and helicopters.<br />The Marado is the South Korean Navy's second large-scale transport ship,... in addition to the Dokdo, and it will be officially delivered to the South Korean Navy in 2020... after trial operations. <br />
