Dozens of fissures have opened on Hawaii's Big Island over the last eleven days.<br />Since the Kilauea Volcano began to erupting on May 3rd, molten lava has continued to spew out of the fissures around the Lower Puna area.<br />At least 2,000 residents have been evacuated from the Leilani Estates near the base of Kilauea.<br />The prolonged volcanic activity has the US Geological Survey concerned that the volcano is building up to an explosion. <br />
