Whenever people see an erupting volcano, they know they should avoid the lava!<br />However, Hawaii's erupting Kilaeua volcano is throwing toxic ash into the air, too.<br />Volcanic ash isn't fluffy. Instead, it's sharp--like sand or glass. That damages lungs.<br />It's also dangerous to inhale. It can get lodged in the lungs, causing breathing problems.<br />Ironically, cleaning up the ash tends to throw more of it around in the air! <br />
