Learn how to make How To Make Kolkata Style Chicken Chaap recipe at home only on Get Curried.<br /><br />Try Chef Smita's take on Bengali Chicken Chaap recipe and do let us know your experience in the comments below.<br /><br /><br />Ingredients for marination:<br />6 Chicken Drum Sticks<br />1 cup - Yogurt<br />1 tbsp - Red Chili Powder<br />1/2 tsp - Mace powder<br />1/2 tsp - Pepper powder<br />7-8 strands - Soaked saffron<br />1 tbsp - Ginger paste<br />1 tbsp - Garlic paste<br />1 cup - poppy seeds paste (poppy seeds soaked in warm water for 30 minutes, then ground it to a paste)<br />Salt to taste<br />1/2 lemon - juice<br /><br />Ingredients for frying:<br />1/2 cup - Mustard oil<br />Marinated chicken<br /><br />Method of preparation:<br />Marinate the chicken with yogurt, red chili powder, mace powder, Pepper powder, Soaked saffron, ginger paste, garlic paste, poppy seeds paste and salt. Mix them well and marinate for 4-5 hours.<br />Before Frying the marinated chicken add lemon juice and mix it well.<br />On a hot pan add mustard oil, let it smoke.<br />Then switch off the light, cool it down, and then re-heat it.<br />Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken and fry it till it's done.<br />Reduce the flame to medium and cover it and cook it.<br />Stir the chicken occasionally and cook it till it's done.<br />Our Kolkata Style Chicken Chaap is ready to be served.
