Most seventh grade science fair projects don’t involve heavy artillery, but one student from Sweet Home, Oregon, included a fully-functioning cannon to complete her assignment.

Emma McCubbins decided she wanted to shoot bowling balls out of her great-grandfather’s old cannon, then mathematically determined how high each of them went. She did this with the help of her dad Gabriel, using the in-flight barrel time and distance traveled.

They strapped a GoPro onto the bowling balls in order to help with the visual presentation of Emma’s projects, resulting in some pretty cool footage.

The video had over 280,000 views at the time of writing.
