Palo Verde defeated Basic 4-2 on Saturday to win the Class 4A state baseball title. It was the first state baseball title in school history. Nate Bartlett drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers. He also had several key defensive plays, including a game-ending double play. Jaret Godman went the distance, allowing five htis, to get the win. Godman had four wins and three saves in Palo Verde's eight postseason wins.
