The National Assembly has, for the second time, delayed a plenary session where lawmakers were supposed to vote on the government's extra budget... as well as a bill that calls for a special probe into an online rigging scandal.
The session was to be held Saturday evening,... but was called off due to a dispute during the deliberation of the 3-point-6 billion U.S. dollar extra budget bill.
The opposition called for a cut... saying that the government was trying to include projects that were rejected under this year's main budget,... while the ruling party said it can't accept such demands.
But rival parties did reach an agreement over the scope and duration of the special probe.
The parties had agreed to vote on both issues at the same time,... as part of a compromise to end the 40 or more days of inactivity at parliament.
For now, three opposition parties have agreed to convene a plenary session Monday morning,... however, the ruling party says that will only be possible if the screening of the extra budget is complete.
