One of the two North Korean defectors that crossed into South Korea's waters near its northwestern coast on Saturday... is a civilian and not a soldier as initially thought.<br />The authorities reported that one of the defected had identified himself as a North Korean soldier when he was retrieved by South Korean military patrolling the Northern Limit Line, a de facto maritime border between South and North Korea in the West Sea.<br />But upon further investigation, authorities say they've confirmed that both of the defectors are in fact North Korean civilians.<br />They are planning to investigate more about the defectors' identities and their motive for making such false statements. <br />
