<p>Residents of central Newfoundland experienced a record breaking snowfall during a late spring snowstorm in the early hours of Thursday, May 24.</p><p>According to local news reports</a>, the storm dumped over a foot of snow (35 cm) in Gander, which is the most snow ever received in the area on May 24.</p><p>Previously, the record snowfall on May 24 was 2.4 inches (6 cm) in 1965, the Gander Beacon</a> reported.</p><p>This video shows a glimpse of strong winds and heavy snowfall blanketing Gander.
