<br /> It's widely known that cigarette smoke damages the lungs.<br />One effect is that the cilia--the tiny protrusions that clean the lungs--weaken.<br />Turns out, one chemical in cinnamon-flavored vape liquid does the same.<br />Preliminary research was presented at a conference of the American Thoracic Society.<br />Cinnemaldehyde also decreases the energy of the cells’ mitochondria.<br />That could make people who vape more vulnerable to chronic lung diseases and infection. <br />
