With less than three weeks to go until the 2018 World Cup kicks off in Russia,... the South Korean men's national football team will take to the pitch tonight for a friendly match against Honduras.<br /><br />Won Jung-hwan reports.<br /> <br /> South Korea are busy fine-tuning their plans and tactics ahead of the 2018 Russia World Cup, which kicks off on June 14th.<br />As part of the preparations, the Taeguk Warriors take on Honduras in a friendly match in the southeastern city of Daegu at 8 p.m. Monday.<br /><br /> South Korea, the second-lowest ranked team at the Russian World Cup,… are in Group F with Germany, Sweden and Mexico.<br />And they'll use Monday's friendly match against Honduras,… to prepare their strategy for their second group match against Mexico on June 23rd. <br /><br />South Korean head coach Shin Tae-yong said Korea will set up with four defenders for the match.<br /><br /> <br />"We are trying out tactics with the Mexico match in mind" <br /><br /> However it won't be easy to try out new tactics as the national team is struggling with injuries. <br />And for that reason South Korea will rest key players,... including Ki Sung-yueng and Lee Jae-sung ,... to ensure there aren't any last minute injury headaches.<br /><br /> <br />"We will have to focus on the ability of new and existing players"<br /><br /> Meanwhile, Honduras, who didn't qualify for Russia 2018,… are ranked two spots higher than South Korea in the FIFA rankings,… and even beat Mexico in a World Cup qualification match last year. <br /> Following the Honduras match, South Korea take on Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday as part of their preparations for the World Cup. <br />Won Jung-hwan, Arirang News. <br />
