After 22 years of operation, GM Korea's factory in Gunsan closes its door for the last time today.<br />It's part of an agreement reached by the Korean government and General Motors on how to rescue the automaker's Korean unit.<br /> After GM Korea announced in February its plan to shut down its Gunsan plant, the local community and the Korean government did their best to keep the plant online.<br />Unfortunately those efforts came up short and the factory will officially shut on Thursday.<br />GM Korea will continue to operate its three other plants in Korea after GM and the South Korean government came to an agreement to save the cash-strapped local unit. <br />
