Firefighters tackle a massive gorse fire in Dartmoor, Devon.More than 70 firefighter have been tackling a blaze covering around 1,500 acres of Dartmoor in one of the largest gorse fires in the area for years. Twelve fire crews fought the gorse fire,<br />which began at Chat Tor, near Lydford, at the weekend, aided by locals<br />who live and work on the moor. Their efforts were hampered by strong<br />and variable winds, but the fire was extinguished by 7.15pm.
