Virgil Tracy’s iconic green transporter Thunderbird 2 has been painstakingly <br />cultivated out of 15-acres of maize plants at the maze in York, North Yorks.<br /><br />Creator Tom Pearcy said he came up with the idea to commemorate the 50th <br />anniversary of the launch of the puppet series, which is set on the fictional <br />Tracy Island. <br /><br />Tom said: “As a kid I remember watching Gerry Anderson’s great TV shows like <br />Stingray & Captain Scarlet, but Thunderbirds was my favourite. <br /><br />“I wanted to do something big to mark the 50th anniversary.
