After a miserable August an unseasonal snow storm marked the end of summer as giant hail stones, lightning bolts and flash floods battered Britain.<br />Traffic ground to a halt as a freak blizzard swept through the Midlands at around 7.30pm on Tuesday (1/9). Twitter user @miss_sammstar took pictures of the Autumn storm showing her garden swamped in icy hail and wrote: "So much hail it looks like snow!!!" Flash floods ran down the streets in Northfield, Kings Norton, Sheldon and Solihull in Birmingham and residents couldn't leave their homes.<br /><br />The adverse weather conditions lasted for about thirty minutes and was captured by Paul Rigby at 7.30pm
