Shopkeeper could end up losing his sight after he was shot in the face during a brutal robbery<br />Detectives have released CCTV footage of the horrifying robbery – which saw the helpless worker being blasted with a high-powered pellet gun before the raiders made off with the till.<br />The incident, captured on the store’s cameras, saw the 44-year-old shopkeeper cowering as he was blasted several times in the face by the ball-bearing gun, as the second crook leant over the counter and stole the entire cash register.<br />Met Police are investigating the robbery, at a convenience store in Brixton, south east London, on at about 8:35pm on October 25.<br />The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for wounds to his face.<br />Officers say some of the pellets lodged in the victim’s eyes and he will require further surgery to remove them and to save his sight.<br />The robbery on Sunday, October 25, is being investigated by Met's Flying Squad, who have described both men as twenties and of medium build.<br />Detective Constable Ben Turner of the Met's Flying Squad, said: "This was a vicious attack that could have left a man blinded. We desperately want to find the men responsible for this crime.<br />"They used gratuitous violence to carry out this robbery and are clearly dangerous. I would ask anyone with information to come forward and help us catch these dangerous, violent men."
