Simon Ellis, 46, claims the attacker hit the police officer with a range of blows - leaving her with a smashed and disfigured ankle, bleeding wound at the back of her head and one of her fingers was hanging off. <br /><br />The attacker is believed to be Nathan Sumner, 36, who lived at a house in Plowright Close. <br /><br />Police have said they were called to a property at this address to reports of a "domestic incident" last night (Wed), where a police officer received "multiple serious injuries". <br /><br />Neighbour Mr Ellis said he saw a male and a female police officer at the maisonette block where he lives in Sheffield, South Yorks., after they had been called out to reports of a disturbance by one of the neighbours. <br /><br />Sumner's attack is believed to have happened within minutes of the officers arriving. <br /><br />Mr Ellis said: "The lady police officer had been injured the most, came half-staggering, half-falling out of the stairwell.
