A seal has avoided a 'slow and painful' death after it was found with a plastic ring stuck around its neck. <br /><br />The young grey seal had suffered from a deep wound after an air vent filter cut into his flesh which forced him to swim on his back to help ease pain. <br /><br />He was spotted by passers by in Burnham Overy Staithe, off the Norfolk coast, who quickly alerted staff at Sea Life Hunstanton.
