This rocket launch in rural Thailand didn't go according to plan – the device ended up billowing bursts of flame and smoke, facedown on the ground. <br /><br />The launch was part of a traditional festival in the northeastern Yasothon province. It takes place every year. People fire homemade rockets into the air.<br /><br />This device was stuffed full of gun powder and lit, and briefly started spinning before smoke engulfed its owners and it dropped to the ground. <br /><br />The rocket's builder, Kitti Pasuk, said: ''It took a long time to prepare the rocket. I'm so disappointed. I'll repair it and try again next time.''
