The number of Koreans growing their own food at home has been on the rise in recent years.<br />With a few seeds, some pots and a little T-L-C, anyone can do it,... it tastes great and more importantly it's really healthy.<br />With that in mind,.... the government is aiming to encourage more people in Korea to get into the home-gardening hobby by giving them a starter pack of seeds.<br />Cho Sung-min has more. <br /> Amid growing concerns of food safety and rising prices of produce, many Korean households are choosing to grow their own vegetables.<br />Data proves there is a clear rise in the number of apartment residents who are starting their own vegetable gardens in their living space.<br /><br /> The Rural Development Administration, in an effort to foster people's interest in home-gardening…said it is launching a program to provide ginseng sprouts seedlings to people who wish to start growing their own vegetables at home.<br />The administration said ginseng seedlings were selected for a good reason. <br /><br /> "Ginseng sprouts grow easily even without plenty of sunlight or during the cold winter season. Watching those seedlings sprout and grow is a good source of inspiration for beginners, leading them to try growing more challenging vegetables."<br /><br /> Growing ginseng sprouts also requires minimum effort and investment. Just pick a small container, fill it with soil, place the seedling, and water it once a week. <br />And you can start enjoying your very own ginseng root as soon as three weeks<br /><br /> The administration said they would start dispatching the seedlings as soon as they are ready.<br />And said it also plans to develop various seedlings more suitable to grow in homes.<br />Cho Sung-min, Arirang News. <br />
