Today -- June 5th -- is World Environment Day, designated by the UN in 1972 to raise awareness about protecting the environment.<br /> South Korea, too, observes this day nationwide. <br />The Ministry of Environment will hold an event this afternoon in Seoul, with Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon among the attendees.<br />Lee will commend selected companies, civic groups, and educational institutions for their outstanding efforts in protecting the environment. <br />The ceremony will mainly focus on plastic pollution…which is the main theme of this year's World Environment Day. <br />
