<p>Fires burning near the campus of Sapir Academic College in Sderot, Israel, on June 5 were caused by incendiary kites launched by Hamas, according to Israeli officials</a>.</p><p>The fire spread outside the college but was brought under control.</p><p>Israeli Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan said that those who send up such kites and “Hamas commanders” should be a “target for preventative killings”.</p><p>Palestinian media said</a> that similar fires on agricultural land near the Gaza border were caused by “youths firing kites”.
