Education Minister Maszlee Malik says that he wants public higher educational institutions (IPTA) to become grounds for intellectuals to share and challenge ideas.<br /><br />He said that vice-chancellors and university adminitrators should no longer restrict debates, forums and other programmes organised by the students.<br /><br />He also wants universities to do away with entrance gantries and barriers in order to turn the institutions into open intellectual playing fields.
