Factory worker arrested for adding foreign objects into sausage links

JOHNSONVILLE, WISCONSIN — A worker at Wisconsin's Johnsonville Sausage plant was caught placing strange objects into sausage links during his shift, and was arrested, reports Fox News.<br /><br />Jonathan Lane was apparently pretending to have done no wrong, by going up to his superiors and acting as if he found the items himself.<br /><br />But Lane reportedly placed cigarette paper and wire connector into different sausage links, Fox News reports.<br /><br />In factory surveillance cameras, Lane was seen as the one placing objects into the meat.<br /><br />Lane was arrested on Friday and was charged with two counts of tampering with a consumer product and acting with reckless disregard for risking the lives of others.<br /><br />He may face up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines, for both counts, if he is convicted.<br /><br />Johnsonville was quick to react, commenting that none of the contaminated sausages made it out of the factory.
