KDI 6월 경제동향 "내수증가세 둔화... 완만한 성장세 지속"<br /><br /> The nation's economy is gradually improving... despite the slow down in consumer spending. <br />According to the Korea Development Institute, strong exports are driving the trend, off-setting sluggish consumption and investment. <br /> The latest estimate released today... shows... sales in lodging and food service sectors in April declined 1-point-8 percent on-year. <br />In contrast, semiconductor, petroleum and petrochemical exports all posted strong growth in May. <br />Compared to the same period last year, exports of semiconductors soared 44-point-5 percent, petroleum by 37-point-6 percent and petrochemical by 26-point-8 percent.<br />The economic think-tank added the world economy is also on the rise despite the ongoing US-China trade dispute. <br />
