김정은, 세인트 레지스 호텔에서 묵을 가능성 높아<br /><br /> While the two leaders are meeting at Capella Hotel in Singapore for the summit, we're learning their accomodations may differ.<br />The Shangri-la is where the American president will stay, while North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may choose the Saint Regis.<br />For details we turn to our Park Hee-jun.<br /> <br /> North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is likely to stay at The St. Regis Singapore,... for his summit with U.S. President Donald Trump next week.<br /><br /> There are reports that his de-facto chief of staff Kim Chang-son visited the hotel at around midnight, Friday.<br />He's believed to have visited for a final check-up before Kim Jong-un arrives. <br /><br />The five-star Orchard Road hotel is where the Chinese delegation stayed in 2015,... for the historic summit between the leaders of China and Taiwan.<br /><br /> The hotel is only 570 meters or a 10-minute walk away from the Shangri-La Hotel where President Trump is expected to stay.<br />It's also within the 'special zone' inside the 'special event area' designated by the Singaporean government for the North Korea-U.S. summit. <br />Previous reports had hinted that Kim would stay at the Fullerton Hotel,... but the Fullerton is not situated within the security area.<br /><br /> It also appears that security preparations are underway within the St. Regis hotel premises.<br />More than 10 security cameras have been installed around the hotel,... and multiple media reports have said Singaporean Civil Defense Force officers were seen holding discussions at the hotel.<br /><br />Meanwhile, security is being beefed up all over Singapore.<br /> North Korea and the U.S. will have their own security teams,... but Singapore will deploy its own special guard force-- the Gurkha Contingent.<br />Originating from Nepal,... they're known to be some of the bravest and fiercest fighters in the world.<br /> Before and throughout the historic summit, the Gurkhas will patrol the summit venue and streets of Singapore.<br /><br />Park Hee-jun, Arirang News. <br />
